A Gartner report reveals a significant gap between CEO expectations and CIO capabilities. 77% of CEOs believe AI will define their business future, yet only 44% consider their CIOs AI-savvy. This discrepancy is concerning, given CIOs are considered the most tech-savvy (64%). However, in terms of AI savviness, they rank second, behind CISOs (46%). Chief Data Officers follow in third place (40%), while Chief Strategy Officers trail far behind (24%). This report emphasizes the importance of worker upskilling to bridge the AI skills gap and meet CEO expectations.
