New research from tech services distributor Telarus shows that IT leaders are increasingly willing to change vendors at renewal, driven by rising costs and the fast pace of technological change. The study, conducted by Redpoint Insights for Telarus’ 2026-27 Tech Trends Report, surveyed 503 midmarket and enterprise buyers and found that 84% are open to switching suppliers when contracts expire. Cost pressures appear to be a key driver: 87% of buyers reported higher renewal prices over the past year, and one-third regretted a major technology purchase. “They’ve had hard experiences in renewal, and they know that technology is moving at the speed of light,” Telarus Chief Marketing and Experience Officer Jen Dimas told Channel Dive at the company’s Partner Summit last month.
