According to Red Hat’s March 24, 2026 State of Cloud-Native Security Report, nearly all organizations operating cloud-native systems experienced a security breach in the last year. Specifically, 97% of respondents reported at least one incident. Contrary to the expectation of complex cyberattacks, the report identifies basic execution failures as the primary culprit. Misconfigured infrastructure or services led the list at 78%, followed by unaddressed vulnerabilities and unauthorized access. These recurring issues highlight that the most costly threats are often preventable oversights rather than sophisticated exploits.
